The home is located in Ningi. A hop, skip and a jump to the beautiful Bribie Island!

We are looking for a female cotenant for Rosie and Whitney, and of course Jessie! (Whitney’s cat 😊)

Both ladies have their own challenges in life (as we all do! ) and would love to find a cotenant to suit their lifestyle and needs. Both ladies require additional support each day to be as independent as possible. Whitney and Rosie are looking for a person who would be of a similar needs, the staff within home are exceptional and have experience in a range of needs – High intensity to low. We are looking for someone who is slower paced. Somone who maybe goes out during the day and some who enjoys the interaction with a home setting.

The ladies are looking for someone in the age range of 30-65 who share the same interests as them which are: animals, craft, movies and gardening. Both ladies have community access in place and attend a day service a few days per week. Both ladies are mobile and verbal. We are hoping to find someone who is a good fit.

The support in the home is based 1: 3. We currently have extra supports in place in the afternoons to support the routine of the ladies each day and for them to have the time and support to be as independent as possible. The overnights are inactive, but of course staff are always available if needed.

The home is managed by the department of housing. They will liaise with you in regards to rent and what is required as this is carried out directly with them, we can support you in the process if successful in your application for the home.

Our goal is to teach and support you within your own home to be as independent as possible. We will assist you in building your own capacity in all areas of daily living, in managing your own home and learning and accessing the community around you.

Fully qualified and trained staff on site at all times. All our staff have actual qualifications in supporting people with a disability and mental illness. A We are happy to transport you as required All tenancies are under a rooming agreement for rent and contributions combined to ensure that you will receive rent assistance. You pay a portion of the rent and a contribution which then includes the phone and internet, choice of two movie/ TV streaming platforms, twice yearly window cleaning and one spring clean to ensure your home is aways clean to a high standard. Contents insurance, lawn and garden care, toilet paper and all basic household cleaning products as well as communal kitchen items such as glad wrap, washing up liquid etc. This also includes the ongoing maintenance and replacement of communal furnishings and white goods that have been supplied by Ignite Utility invoices are split between tenants as they are invoiced Groceries are your responsibility Houses are fully furnished, you just need your bedroom things and of course, anything else you want to bring along to make the home yours! Its not restricted to just your bedroom, this is your home! You become a part of the Ignite Community ‘Community’ Access to exclusive events and activities such as the circus, concerts and other community events with no extra funding required. The opportunity to make friendships with others in their home with monthly inter house dinner parties, lunches and celebrating special days with others. Funded two night getaways, twice per year (Must be 1: 2) conditions apply but does not need extra NDIS funds for this.

About Ignite Community Services:

We have been operating for 4 years however have vast experience in the residential disability space. We do not operate our SIL homes like the rest. Each home is exactly that, a person's HOME. We don't charge tenants anything except utilities, mowing etc. (Internet is included with the property) We don't take percentages of pensions, that's your money! We are genuinely open and flexible in the way we support to ensure your needs are met, to live how YOU want to, not the way you are told to. We will advocate for you at every turn for what you need and want. We have been a registered provider from our beginning and had outstanding reviews from our participants, their families and our staff. We take great pride in making sure you are living, and being supported to have the best life you can. We have experience in high levels of care. Each home is appointed a Team Leader that manages the day to day -(Who also works alongside the team on site also in supporting), with a team that compliments the people living in the home

About the house:

This is a beautiful home. It has a very homely feel to it. Has a living and dining area. Shared fully accessible (wet room) bathroom with handrails. Flat driveway and front yard. Flat throughout, VERY small step to the back patio. Lovely garden out back with a grassed area and flourishing vegie garden. Fully furnished with white goods, all kitchen equipment supplied. Located close to Ningi and Bribie island shops. Next Bigger shopping centre is 20 minutes away in Morayfield however, you have everything you need locally.

A bit about the lease

The property is owned by the department of housing. Ignite has no ownership or leasehold over the house. If you chose to no longer have Ignite as your SIL supports, as much as we don’t want to see you go, you are free to do so and we will remove all that is owned by us, switch over utilities and it’s all yours. It’s not our place to say you are locked in and don’t have a home if you leave us. HOW RUDE! Your home is your right, and we would never take that away from you.

Other costs

There aren’t any. You pay your rent. You pay your share of the utilities and contributions and that’s it. We don’t want your pension, not even a teeny bit of it. Your money after these bills is yours not ours! We can help you put together a grocery plan and budget, as well as a spending and saving budget too! This is what supported independent living is all about, learning all you can, to become as independent as possible!

We know from experience the way we run our SIL homes works well. It allows people to have everything anyone else would at home and is very transparent.

In addition to that, each home has it’s very own team leader, that is only allocated to THAT HOME. This team leader is reportable to the Program Manager who works closely with each team leader to ensure that we have cohesive teams who are feeling positive and empowered to make a difference in the life of your loved one. How we see it? If you don’t have a positive team supporting people, people do not make progress and where people do not make progress people are not moving forward in their lives to do and be the best they can. Life is about moving forward, learning, growing and every changing. This is the same for ALL people, no matter their ability.
