2 Participant | OOA Included | High Physical Support Design
5 Blakewater Crescent, Weir Views is a purpose-built Specialist Disability Accommodation home designed and certified under the High Physical Support design category. This single-storey home has been carefully designed and constructed to meet the highest level of SDA requirements while still feeling comfortable, modern, and easy to live in.
The layout supports both independence and high-level care needs, with integrated design features that allow participants to live safely and comfortably while ensuring supports can be delivered efficiently. Every space has been planned with accessibility, durability, and everyday usability in mind.
The Heart of the Home
Open, Functional and Easy to Navigate
At the centre of the home is a spacious open-plan living, dining, and kitchen area. The layout allows for smooth movement between spaces, making it suitable for assistive equipment while still feeling like a natural home environment.
The kitchen connects directly to the living area, supporting participation in daily routines such as cooking, socialising, or relaxing. Clear circulation space and thoughtful positioning of appliances and fixtures make the space practical for both participants and support staff.
Lighting, power points, and controls are positioned consistently throughout the home to support ease of use, while durable finishes and slip-resistant flooring contribute to safety across all areas.
Participant Bedrooms
Private, Accessible and Designed for High Support Needs
The home includes two participant bedrooms, each designed to support high physical support requirements. Each bedroom provides generous space for a full-sized bed and assistive equipment, along with clear circulation areas to allow for easy movement and support access. Both bedrooms include private ensuites, giving participants their own personal space while maintaining dignity and independence.
Structural provisions are in place to support ceiling hoists, with capacity for a 250 kg system running across and along the bed, ensuring future readiness for complex care needs. The bedrooms are positioned to provide privacy while remaining easily accessible for support when required.
Bathrooms and Accessibility
Safe, Reinforced and Easy to Use
Bathrooms are designed in line with SDA High Physical Support requirements, with step-free showers, accessible layouts, and reinforced walls for future grab rail installation.
Fixtures and fittings are selected for ease of use, including accessible tapware and layouts that allow comfortable movement for both participants and supports. Slip-resistant flooring is provided to improve safety in wet areas.
Overnight On-Call (OOA) Room
Support Available When Needed
The home includes a dedicated Overnight On-Call room, allowing support staff to stay onsite when required. The OOA room is positioned to provide quick access to participant areas while maintaining separation to support privacy and independence. This balance ensures participants can live as independently as possible with reassurance that support is close by.
Outdoor Area
Simple, Accessible and Connected
The home includes a covered alfresco area that connects directly to the main living space, creating an easy transition between indoors and outdoors.
External pathways and entry points are designed to be step-free and accessible from the boundary through to the home, supporting safe and continuous movement.
Outdoor areas are designed to be low maintenance, safe, and comfortable for everyday use.
Accessibility and Design Features
Built for High Physical Support from the Start
This home has been designed and constructed to meet High Physical Support SDA requirements, with features integrated from the beginning rather than added later.
Wide doorways, step-free access, and generous circulation spaces support mobility throughout the home. Structural reinforcements, emergency power provisions, and accessible services ensure the home can accommodate complex needs both now and into the future.
Ducted air conditioning with zoning, high-speed internet capability, and consistent control placement throughout the home all contribute to a comfortable and functional living environment.
Fire safety measures, including sprinklers and an evacuation plan, are also in place to support safety and compliance.
