Daily life unfolds at a gentle, welcoming pace. Mornings might start with a quiet coffee in the garden, followed by an outing to the pool or a spontaneous trip to the fishing spot. With so many events celebrated, from International Women’s Day to Christmas, families and friends often join the fun and add to the sense of belonging. Whether housemates are potting plants, cooking a group meal, or gathering for the weekly music session, this home’s atmosphere is shaped by shared laughter and support. There is also room for alone time, like reading or watching a favourite show, whenever someone needs a peaceful moment.

Round the clock Registered Nursing support is available, along with Senior Support workers and Assisting in Nursing staff who focus on each person’s unique needs. Telehealth sessions are offered via video every Tuesday, and a GP visits every Thursday, helping everyone stay on top of their health and wellbeing. We implement people’s behaviour support plans which guide staff in providing effective support. Housemates

4 current housemates

Tucked in the secure surroundings of Macquarie hospital, this home is shared by two women and two men who bring a blend of calm and creativity to everyday life. One of the housemates, a devoted artist, enjoys using part of the shared space as her studio, filling the home with colour and inspiration. Fishing trips and local pool visits often shape the week’s adventures, and Tuesday group music therapy sessions add a lively rhythm to the household. Across the wider Macquarie community, there are ten neighbouring homes that come together to celebrate birthdays and special events, each person bringing a plate to share. Gardening projects, the arrival of the local ice cream truck, and annual gatherings like Halloween or Easter egg hunts mean there is always something to look forward to. For those who enjoy getting out, the Friday night disco at North Ryde RSL is a popular treat. Staff work to understand and honour everyone’s interests, even arranging support workers who speak other languages when needed, ensuring every housemate feels connected and at home.

The housemates in this home are 2 men and 2 women who enjoy a range of weekly activities. They are all active in the community and enjoy walks, table games, craft, make-up, foot massages, cooking, baking, gardening and more. The housemates love to go out on the weekends to parks, beaches, cafes, restaurants and on day trips. This is a diverse home of people who are mostly non-verbal.
