Join Our Warm, Supportive SIL Home in Toowoomba – Vacancy Available!
Hey there! If you're looking for a comfortable, inclusive place to call home where you can build independence while enjoying a friendly, animal-loving vibe, our SIL House might be just the fit. We're Blue Kite Support, and our flagship home, Isabel, is a charming 1950 s character house that's been fully renovated and furnished to feel modern and welcoming. It's set up as a 1: 3 share environment (one support worker to three participants) with rostered 24/7 support, so there's always someone around to lend a hand in a kind, encouraging way.
About the House
Location: Tucked away in a peaceful spot in Toowoomba (Centenary Heights), just a short stroll from the beautiful waterbird habitat park and only a 7-minute drive to the CBD. Perfect for getting out and about without the hassle.
Features: 3 bedrooms + OOA room (including a spare room that can double as a recreational space or separate living area! ), 2 modern bathrooms, built-in wardrobes, ducted air conditioning, and a fantastic culinary kitchen that's great for whipping up meals. Outside, there's a back deck for relaxing, a spacious garden ready for a veggie patch, and even some feathered friends – we have three chickens that add to the homely feel.
Environment: The household is all about kindness, routine, and balance. It's inclusive, respectful, and supportive, with plenty of opportunities to engage socially, get creative, or just chill in a stable setting.
Meet Your Potential Housemates
We've got two wonderful participants already settled in, and we're excited to find someone who vibes with the group:
Participant A (male, mid-40 s): A gentle, thoughtful guy with a warm personality who loves art, crochet, and deep conversations. He's working on boosting his independence, getting back into the community, and honing skills like cooking and daily routines. He's looking for respectful, easy-going housemates who value kindness, routine, and a supportive atmosphere.
Participant B (female, late-20 s): Outgoing and super friendly once you get to know her, with a huge passion for animals – she's even training her assistance dog (though the pup doesn't live here). She enjoys touch football, crochet, sewing, and baking, and her big dream is to start a small pet-related business. She's focused on building independence, exploring volunteering or work opportunities. She would love active, friendly housemates who support social involvement, love watching the footy or a movie/tv shows together, but also respect everyone's space and downtime.
Together, they create a household that's engaging yet calm, with a mix of creativity, community outings, and quiet downtime. If you're someone who appreciates animals, routine, and mutual support – and maybe shares some interests like crafting, sport or outdoor activities – you'd slot right in!
Who We're Looking For
We're seeking a third participant who wants to grow their independence in a nurturing environment. Whether you're into creative hobbies, community engagement, or just building daily skills, this could be your spot. We prioritise compatibility, so if you're respectful, kind, and open to a shared routine, let's chat!
